








Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) organized a Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony on Wednesday.
Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife attended the event. Prior to the event, the Senior General and wife and party viewed the display of Kathina Robes and offertories to be donated.
The Senior General later paid homage to the Buddha image and offered emerald alms bowl, flower, water, light and fruits. The ceremony then commenced by reciting Namotasa three times. The congregation later received nine precepts from the Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Patron Sayadaw of Thanlyin Min Kyaung Monastery.
After listening to the sermons, delivered by the Sayadaws, the Senior General and wife donated Kathina Robes and offertories to the Yay Sin Kan Oo Monastery Sayadaw of Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri Township and Thanlyin Min Kyaung Monastery Sayadaw.
This was followed by donations of Kathina Robes and offertories to the Sayadaws by Vie Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife, the Union level personnel and their wives, Chief of Staff (Army, Navy, Air) and wife, and senior military officers from the Commander-in-Chief Office and their wives.
The congregation later listened to the explanation on the Kathina occasion and shared the merits gained. After the ceremony, day meal was donated to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha. Over 295 million kyat worth of donations have been made for this year Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony by the families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air). The donated offertories were then conveyed to the respective monasteries through the procession to the Uppatasandhi Pagoda.
