Johnson: UK could build nuclear reactor every year

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said the UK will build a nuclear reactor every year to reduce Britain's reliance on fossil fuels. Speaking in Hartlepool on Monday, Johnson said the country needed "national solutions" to a "global problem".

He added "It will give the UK the kind of resilience, the kind of self-reliance, the security that the country needs for energy supplies,”. His comments come as Europe races to secure alternative supplies to Russian energy, placing priority on global natural gas imports from countries that include major producers like Algeria, Qatar and the United States.
