Japanese painter’s colored scroll discovered

Over 3.3 meters long colored scroll of renowned Japanese painter from the 18th century, has been discovered in Europe and is now housed at a Kyoto Museum.

The artwork depicts about 40 varieties of fruits and vegetables, including a grape, an apple, a pumpkin and a white gourd, in vivid colors. A signature on the scroll suggests that the painter created the work when he was 76.The work is scheduled to be exhibited to the public at the Kyoto Museum in October.
