Engakuji Temple in Kamakura, south of Tokyo, showcased its cultural assets during an annual airing event in conjunction with Japan's Culture Day. The exhibition featured approximately 30 items, including calligraphy and paintings. Notably, one exhibit included a letter from Hojo Tokimune, a regent of the Kamakura shogunate, which is designated as an important cultural property.

The letter illustrates efforts to bring Chinese monks to Japan to promote Zen Buddhism. Additionally, the display featured images of Mugaku Sogen, the monk who founded Engakuji after being invited from China. Visitors also had the opportunity to tour Shariden Hall, designated as a national treasure.
