India’s Odisha strengthens strategic partnership with Japan

India’s Odisha is significantly strengthening its strategic partnership with Japan by securing approximately 8 billion US dollars in new green energy investments from Japanese firms, including IHI Corporation and ACME Group.

Japan's IHI Corporation and ACME Group finalized agreements in July 2026 for landmark clean ammonia and sustainable fuel plants in Odisha, which will create over 7,600 jobs. At the national level, India and Japan signed a Joint Statement on AI Cooperation, combining India's software strengths with Japan's precision technology to drive safe, trustworthy AI and build resilient digital supply chains.
