Japan's nuclear regulator has finished inspecting a newly completed system to release radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea.

The decision to dump the contaminated water has sparked widespread concerns and protests. The Nuclear Regulation Authority completed three days of final on-site inspections on Friday and reported no particular problem with the facility's overall performance. Regional countries have criticized Japan's plan.
