Jakarta re-imposes restrictions as infections rise

Indonesia's capital has started to re-impose large-scale social restrictions to control a rapid surge in coronavirus cases. Jakarta's Governor announced an emergency decision last week to pull the emergency brake when they are forced to re-implement large scale restrictions like what happened during the beginning of the pandemic.

The city government has ordered the closure of workplaces and entertainment centers starting Monday. Only religious places in residential areas will be allowed to continue operating. Office activities will be conducted at home again, but there are 11 essential sectors that will still be able to operate.
