Italian PM condemns Israeli attacks on UNIFIL ahead of EU summit

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni addressed the Senate ahead of the upcoming EU summit, where she comments on the recent developments along the Israeli-Lebanese border. Meloni condemns as "not acceptable" and "unjustified" the recent series of Israeli attacks that have injured United Nations peacekeepers in southern Lebanon.

The United Nations peacekeeping mission, UNIFIL, includes over 1,000 Italian troops. Meloni "reiterated the unacceptability of UNIFIL being attacked by Israeli armed forces" during a call with Netanyahu, her office said.
