An Iraqi Interior Ministry spokesman on Sunday said an investigation was underway to determine the source of live fire that killed many of the more than 100 people who have died during six days of unrest in the country. Spokesman Saad Maan claimed that local security forces did not clash with protesters. Maan said 104 people, including eight security members, had been killed in the six days of unrest.

The Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya news channel said masked gunmen stormed the offices of the station late on Saturday, beat up some of the employees and smashed equipment before they fled. Gunmen also attacked the offices of Iraq's Dajla and NRT news channels in Baghdad, according to employees. Both of those stations are privately owned.
