Investment Sector: DICA To Give Spaces in Bago Industrial Zone

Directorate of Investment and Company Administration [DICA] of Bago Region is giving permission in Bago industrial zone area to cutting, making and packing (CMP) businesses in order to implement the full investment and job opportunities.

Bago region government has planned to accept project proposals and give spaces for factories in industrial zone, according to the director of DICA.

Ko Ko Latt, Director, DICA(Bago) said “There are a lot of spaces left in our Bago industrial zone because foreign investors have not arrived yet and local investors do not have enough capital to establish a factory. Regarding fertilizer sector, there is an organic fertilizer factory based on animal manure invested by CP Group from Thailand. Also, there is a fertilizer factory owned by a Myanmar national, producing fertilizers from garbage collected from houses and factories. We’ve now had a proposal for a factory to produce electricity from garbage.”

In Bago region, there are 123.712 million US dollars worth foreign investments and 9,529.15 million kyats worth local investments since February 2021. As a result, about 7,500 jobs have been created.
