Investment in Ayeyarwady Region: Allowed to invest over 80 investments of local and foreign

In Ayeyarwady Region, a total of over 80 investments included 36 foreign investments and 53 of local investments worth over 3269 million USD were allowed to invest from 2017 to 2022, and it created more than 35,000 job opportunities for local people. Also the investors mainly invested in Agricultural and Livestock sector, according to an official of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).

U Thet Paing, Director, DICA (Ayeyarwady), said " From 2017 to 2022, we approved about 36 foreign and 53 local investment and worth over 32,69 million USD and created more than 35,000 job opportunities for locals. In 2022, we were able to conduct field inspections to 10 businesses that already have permitted by the Myanmar Investment Commission and Ayeyarwady Region Investment Committee (ARIC). We also hold the discussion meetings for 3 times with entrepreneurs in terms of investments promotions activities."

In January 2023, ARIC permitted 1 investment of Myanmar citizens, worth over 1785 million USD and it created 79 job opportunities for locals.

U Thet Paing, Director, DICA (Ayeyarwady), said " In 2023, we approved to 1 business to upgrade the constructions works. Also we conducted field inspections to 2 businesses that already approved by the Myanmar Investments Commission and Investment Committee of Ayeyarwady Region. We mostly approved livestock and agriculture sector as well as rice mills businesses and approved to export of rice vermicelli products."

It’s reported that ARIC mainly allowed the manufacturing of garments, rice mills, livestock and agriculture sector in Ayeyarwady Region.
