



Vietnam’s human development index value (HDI) has increased by 46% within a decade, placing it among the countries with the highest HDI growth rates globally.
This shows that Vietnam prioritizes human development and views it as the basis for sustainable development. International organizations highly value Vietnam’s population achievements. According to the World Happiness Report 2023, Vietnam is the fourth happiest country in Southeast Asia.
The country’s GDP per capita in 2022 reached more than 4,160 USD, and the average life expectancy of Vietnamese is over 73 years old, higher than the regional average. The country is also one of the only six countries worldwide to achieve the Millennium Development Goal of reducing maternal mortality by 2015.
