International Youth Day: 2025 International Youth Day ceremony held

The 2025 International Youth Day ceremony was held on the morning of August 12 at Hotel Max in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Union Ministers Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Dr. Soe Win, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo included in the attendees. First, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Chairman of Myanmar National Youth Committee and Union Minister for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, delivered the opening speech. Next, the message sent by the United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Antonio Guterres for International Youth Day was read by U Zin Min Htet, Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Myanmar Youth Affairs Work Committee.

After that, Union Ministers and the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council presented honorary cash awards and certificates of honor to the outstanding youths. The Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council also contributed cash donation for International Youth Day 2025 and the Youth Dialogue and the Deputy Minister U Zin Min Htet received. Subsequently, a video clip documenting the multifaceted youth development activities in commemoration of International Youth Day 2025 was shown.

Following that, Deputy Minister U Zin Min Htet and officials presented certificates of honor to the Myanmar Youth Development Association and the Future Youth Group, as well as honorary cash awards, certificates, and trophies to winners of the International Youth Day essay competition and participants of the youth dialogue.

Next, the 2025 International Youth Day youth dialogue continued, moderated by Daw Kyi Sin Shwe. Participants discussed topics including “Cultural Heritage and Youth,” “Environmental Challenges and Technology,” and “From Quality Education to Successful Economic Pathways.” Attendees asked questions and engaged in discussions, with leading speakers responding. Deputy Minister U Zin Min Htet concluded the event with closing remarks.
