The International Conference on Engineering Education Accreditation (ICEEA) 2025 was held at the Myanmar Engineering Council in Yangon on Wednesday.

The event was hosted by the Myanmar Engineering Council in collaboration with the Committee on Engineering Education (CEIE) under the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO).

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, who also chairs the Myanmar Engineering Council, delivered an opening address virtually. He highlighted the importance of engineering education in building a sustainable future, addressing global challenges like climate change, energy transition, water scarcity, and digital divide.

Participants from over 20 countries, including officials from international engineering organizations, joined the conference online and in person. The two-day event features discussions on topics such as the role of AI in accreditation, sustainable development goals (SDGs), zero-energy transition, and future-ready engineers.

International bodies such as WFEO, IEA, FEIAP, IEET, EA, and engineering institutions from ASEAN, India, Malaysia, and Pakistan are taking part in the event, aimed at enhancing collaboration, quality assurance, and recognition in engineering education globally.
