Int’l Literacy Day: 2022 Int’l Literacy Day Observed In Bago

The 2022 International Literacy Day was observed at the Bago Township Hall in the morning on September 8 with the presence of Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win.

During the ceremony, first, the students from No (3) Basic Education High School performed with song of “Education for All” and the chief minister provided cash of honor.

In his address, the Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win said the literacy plays the vital role in the process of efforts for the socio-economic development of a country. The literacy is the very basic foundation to build the more sustainable and solid future for everyone. Illiteracy has the affects brought about the whole society to the lack of distinguishing right from wrong leading to the terrorism, conflicts and poverty. So, the literacy is like a main root of a tree etc.

Next, the director of Bago Region Education Department U Soe Lwin read the message sent by the UNESCO secretary and video clip was screened in commemorating International Literacy Day followed the taking documentary group photo, it’s reported.
