Inspection Trip: Union Minister Meets With Concerned Officials And Staff

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi made inspections in Ayeyawaddy Region.

In Pathein, at the regional government office, the Union Minister met with the Chief Minister and the regional natural resources minister. The meeting focused on improvement of forest cover, conservation of forest reserve, protection of mangrove ecosystem and biodiversity, continuation of establishment of tree-planting in forest and along roads and streets and firewood plantation as well as environmental conservation. 

The Union Minister continued his trip to a commercial 350-acre ironwood plantation in TaLutKhwar Forest Reserve, heard reports and gave necessary instructions. He also looked round the plantation.

Also, at the Department of Environmental Conservation, the Union Minister held a meeting with officers and staff from the Department. In the meeting, the Union Minister stressed systematic management of the country's natural resources such as forest resources and mineral resources as well as efforts for good environmental and ecological services for the benefit of future generations. He also called on concerned officials to conduct human resources development program. Also, the Union Minister urged the attendees to adhere to employee ethics, law and bylaws.
