
The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi on Sunday inspected 22 species of trees grown in the dry zone and nurturing 45,000 seedlings in Kaung Hmu Daw nursery established by the Dry Zone Greening Department.
Next, the union minister inspected the large scale plantation of 3000 Tama, rain trees and Badauk trees, special greening plantation of 2000 Tama trees established by the Dry Zone Greening Department in Chaung-U Township, Monywa district, Sagaing Region, their thriving and caring works.
The responsible officials clarified the implementations and the union minister instructed necessary requirements. Later, the union minister inspected the thriving of community established forest outside the Nat Yay Kan forest reserve. Then, the union minister proceeded to the Bodhi Tahtaung special greening project area, Monywa Township, Sagaing Region and the officials concerned clarified the facts of the project. The union minister inspected the project area and coordinated necessaries.
In the morning on Monday, the union minister met with the chairman of the Sagaing Region Administration Council and members and departmental officials at the regional council office and discussed the growing trees during the monsoon season along the roadsides of the region, arrangements for establishment of village firewood plantation, environmental conservation measures, issues on mining sector and the coordination between the ministry and the region administration council.
Next, the attendees reported the ongoing work implementations and works to be done and the union minister and chairman of region administration council coordinated necessaries.
