Inspection Tour : Visiting the Bagan–Nyaung U and Mandalay Airports

Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, accompanied by officials, inspected the Bagan–Nyaung U Airport on Sunday.

Officials from the Department of Civil Aviation reported on the ongoing airport upgrade works. The Union Minister inspected the expansion of the runway shoulders by 25 feet on both sides, resurfacing of the runway, and construction of expanded aircraft parking areas.

He instructed for timely completion of the tasks, meeting the set standards. The Union Minister then visited Mandalay International Airport, where officials reported on repair works to passenger facilities damaged by an earthquake, renovation of traditional Myanmar artworks, and improvements to airport drainage systems. The Union Minister emphasized continuous efforts to provide better services for passengers.
