Inspection tour: Union Minister inspected greening and reforestation

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi held a coordination meeting with the chairman of Magwe Region Administration Council in the afternoon on 21st May regarding the plantation of trees at both sides of the roads in Magwe region, achievement of the project for establishment of village use firewood plantation, protection of toddy palm trees from extinction and sustainable development and the coordination between the ministry of natural resources and environmental conservation and the Magwe Region Administration Council.

Next, the attendees at the meeting clarified the related sectors and the union minister and chairman of Magwe Region administration council coordinated the necessaries.

Afterward, the Union Minister inspected the working site of manufacturing Myanma Myay A-1 high-efficiency cookstoves established with the design and technical assistance of the forest research department in Minbu Township, the flourishing 40,000 seedlings in ShweTaPin perennial nursery garden, the success of reforestation in 100 acres in SinGaung-Zee-Ai forest outside the protected area.

Then, the Union Minister also inspected the 30 acres of village use firewood plantation outside of forest reserve in Salin Township, the flourishing 30 acres of village use firewood plantation and the preparations for the plantation in rainy season in 2021. Those firewood plantations will be handed over to the 1,800 households from 3 villages, it’s learnt.
