Inspection Tour: Union Minister Inspected Electricity Power Plants And Substations

The country’s yearly consumption of electricity is increasing at 15%. The Ministry of Electricity and Energy is implementing to compensate the increased power consumption by constructing new power plants, extension of power lines and sub power stations and upgrading and repairing power plants with degraded mechanical operation. The Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo accompanied by the officials inspected Hlawka natural gas-fired power plant in Mingalardon Township, Yangon Region on December 21.

The power plant in-charge and responsible officials clarified the facts of power plant, status of mechanical operation, receiving and fueling of natural gas and the repairing of gas turbine no (1, 2 and 3) from November, 2021 to March 2022, removing old boiler and installing new one during the period from December, 2021 to November, 2022 and repairing steamed turbine.

In responding to the clarifications, union minister instructed to complete the repairing and upgrading works within the timeframe and inspected power control room and extension of transformer installing works. The union minister also inspected Kamanat  main power substation in Bago Township, gave necessary instructions and inspected extension works of transformer installing.

Next, the union minister met with the region, district and township level engineers and staffs at the Bago Region Electrical power engineer office and instructed to increase power supply in Bago region, to lessen the power lost and power cut, to provide full grade electricity power supply for the people, to receive full electricity charges etc.
