









Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay made inspections in Mon State. First, the Union Minister inspected the Daik-U-Sittoung Road maintenance work and the Bayagyi-Kyaikhto-Mawlamyaing Road operated by the Shwe Than Lwin Highway Company under the Build–operate–transfer (B.O.T) system and gave necessary instructions.
At the briefing hall, the Union Minister heard reports on the Bago-Nyaunglaybin Road, Bayagyi-Kyaikhto Road, Kyaikhto-Thaton-Mawlamyaing Road and Thaton-Myaingkalay Road by an official from the Shwe Than Lwin Highway Company under the Build–operate–transfer (B.O.T) system.
In his response, the Union Minister stressed the importance of Bayagyi-Kyaikhto-Mawlamyaing Road and called for the road expansion and cooperation with the Department of Bridge for more bridges construction. Also, the Union Minister inspected the Kyaikhto bypass, heard report and called on concerned officials to upgrade the Road into a 4-lane one and complete the project in a timely manner.
In Mawlamyaing, the Union Minister inspected construction of a court building and heard reports on construction works between the fiscal year of 2017/2018 and 2022/2023 and urban, water and electricity works before stressing quality construction and systematic hand-over. The 3-storey court building under construction is 240 feet long and 240 feet wide – the construction process is now 97% completed.
The Union Minister continued his inspection trip to the Attayan Bridge (Sabel Gu) on the Kyaikmaraw-Sabel Gu-Kawtpanaw Road and other bridges and roads condition connecting Mon State with Kayin State.
