Inspection tour : PM U Nyo Saw visited Cocokyun Township

The Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Nyo Saw, along with the Yangon Region Chief Minister, the Commander of Yangon Command, Deputy Ministers, and responsible officials, met with local authorities and community elders in Cocokyun Township, Yangon Region, on October 25 and inspected the progress of regional development activities.

The Prime Minister met with departmental staff from Cocokyun Township at the Township General Administration Department meeting hall, and with township social organizations and community elders at the Township Hall, where he discussed matters related to the regional development.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that as the Government is undertaking sector-wise tasks for the development of the living standards of the people in the Cocokyun region, the local residents should also strive to achieve further progress.

He mentioned that for the development and cleanliness/beautification of Cocokyun, the Head of State had already facilitated the construction of walls along the main Township roads, laying of asphalt ring roads, construction of a jetty bridge, expansion of the airport, enabling access to television channels, implementation of beef cattle breeding programs, and installation of telephone lines for improved communication.

Furthermore, he urged students, parents, and teachers to collaborate and organize efforts to ensure high pass rates for Cocokyun Township students transitioning from primary to middle school and middle to high school levels. He also emphasized the need for systematic cooperation to successfully hold the multi-party democracy general election.

Subsequently, departmental staff and community elders discussed and presented the needs for regional development. The Prime Minister and responsible officials coordinated and provided necessary support, distributing food items, agricultural seeds, educational books and magazines, utility items, MRTV DTH set-top boxes, and donated materials, which were received by the responsible officials.

After the meeting, the Prime Minister cordially greeted the local residents who attended. Following this, the Prime Minister and officials paid homage to the Presiding Sayadaw of the Thathana Mandaing  monastery and offered donations.

Then, the Prime Minister and officials visited the Cocokyun Solar Power Plant, where they inspected the status of electricity distribution, the availability of drinking water in the region, and potential sites for constructing dams and reservoirs to ensure a year-round adequate supply of fresh water for local residents and for agricultural purposes.
