Inspection tour: MoALI Union Minister inspected Yezin area

The Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo inspected the preparation works to open the Yezin Agricultural University and the University of Veterinary Science on May 9.

First, the union minister met with the permanent secretary, director-generals, rectors and faculty members at the meeting room of Yezin Agricultural University and the rectors of Agricultural University and University of Veterinary Science clarified the accepting the enrollment of the students and the holding capacity of dormitories and class rooms and the arrangements for the teaching and learning safely in line with the health directives.

In response to the clarifications, the union minister said that the union government is giving all round supports for the human resources development efforts as the best the investment.

The country needs the competent human resources for the higher production and quality products of the agriculture and livestock breeding sectors as the country endowed with the favourable climate of basic requirement and the huge neighboring markets.

Next, the union minister viewed round the teaching buildings, practical halls, laboratories, library, mess halls and dormitories and instructed the responsible officials not to affect the teaching and learning quality due to the arrangements to compensate the losses of academic period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, to fulfill the necessaries for the students who are difficult to the attend the classes and the basic needs, healthcare and welfare of the faculty members and their families.

Afterward, the union minister and officials visited Yezin Dam and gave necessary instructions to the officials concerned, it’s reported.
