Inspection Tour : Livestock farms in Meiktila District inspected

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi made an inspection tour in Meiktila District of Mandalay Region on 16th August. The Deputy Minister inspected the private piggery in Pyintha Village of Meiktila Township and KoneTaung  Village of Thazi Township.

During the inspection, he met with livestock entrepreneurs and stressed to cooperate with local farmers for expanding their businesses from manageable scale to commercial one. Likewise, the Deputy Minister visited the cattle farm in NyaungPinTha Village of Meiktila Township where he observed the thriving of grass plantations for animal feed, cattle farming, and distribution of dairy products.

He also met with MSMEs entrepreneurs and instructed to make cooperation with local farmers for strong market along with systematic breeding methods and disease control measures. At the Goat Breeding Research Farm of the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department, the Deputy Minister inspected the work processes and coordinated the needs.

The Deputy Minister then inspected the goat farms being operated by the private companies, and stressed the needs to ensure environmental cleanliness and safety, food sufficiency and promoting exports.
