









Union Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Kan Zaw and Union Minister for Commerce U Chit Swe, along with officials, visited Myanmar International Ports Min Htet Min and Asia World to inspect customs operations.
During the visit, they held meetings with officials from Myanmar Port Authority, Departments of Customs, Trade, Immigration, and Myanmar Police Force, where updates on customs inspections and challenges were discussed. Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw stressed the importance of complying with customs laws and procedures, and urged all to ensure fast and smooth cargo clearance.
Union Minister U Chit Swe emphasized stricter control on illegal and over-limit imports, especially at border trade points. The Union Ministers also inspected storage systems (SILO) and ongoing operations at the ports. Union Minister Dr Kan Zaw later visited the Customs Department headquarters and met with staff to encourage strict adherence to legal guidelines and civil service ethics.
Separately, Union Minister U Chit Swe met with the staff of the Ministry of Commerce to discuss improving performance, identifying past weaknesses, and working with integrity. The Union Ministers then inspected the Dry Port in East Dagon Township, reviewing customs clearance, bonded warehouses, and the storage of EV vehicles and other goods.
