







The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is continuously monitoring and inspecting the structural integrity of dams and related water infrastructure within Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
These inspections are being carried out systematically in accordance with the Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP) for dams. On August 27th, Union Minister U Min Naung, Deputy Minister U Bo Bo Kyaw, and officials inspected major dams in Nay Pyi Taw, including Yezin, Paunglaung, Ngalaik, and Kintha, to assess water levels and dam safety amid continuous rainfall.
According to experts, all dams remain structurally sound with no immediate safety concerns. At Yezin Dam, water is being released in a controlled manner, with no overflow reported. Similarly, at Upper Paunglaung Dam, water levels are high but stable, and officials confirmed safe outflow with no flood risk.
At Ngalaik Dam, water level is just over one foot below full capacity, and no overflow has occurred. Officials presented daily rainfall records and water level data.
At Kintha Dam and Sin Thay Diversion Weir, precautionary measures are being taken to protect structures and minimize damage from potential flooding. According to assessments by dam safety experts and professionals, there are currently no safety concerns regarding the stability and security of the dams.
