





Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, accompanied by officials, on June 25, inspected the progress of renovation work on pagodas, stupas, and religious buildings within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area that were damaged by the Mandalay earthquake.
First, the Union Minister and officials arrived at the historically significant Thathana Alin Yaung Hlay Khwin Taung Taw Koemoke Pyan Padamya Kat Kyaw Pagoda in Kyae Taung village tract, Zeyarthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, which was affected by the earthquake.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials proceeded to Bhaya Koesu Pagoda in Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw, also damaged by the earthquake. They inspected the renovation progress, where members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees briefed them on the extent of the damage, the ongoing repair work, and the completed repairs.
Regarding the briefings, the Union Minister emphasized that the Head of State has instructed that the damaged pagodas and stupas be renovated to withstand an 8.0 magnitude Richter scale earthquake. He urged everyone to work together in accordance with the Head of State's directives and stressed the importance of adhering to SOP standards during the renovation of the pagodas.
Next, the Union Minister and officials visited the Sutaungpyae Lokamarazein Pagoda. A member of the the Pagoda Board of Trustees presented the progress of the renovation, and the Union Minister provided guidance on the necessary requirements.
