Inspection in Rakhine State: UEC Chairman Meets Election Sub-Commission Offices

Union Election Commission Chairman U Thein Soe held meeting with the staff of Election Sub-Commission Office in Rakhine State at the State Government Office on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the UEC Chairman said implementation of 5-point Road Map by the State Administration Council, completion of collecting population census list, drafting correct voter lists, plan to hold elections by PR system, cooperation of relevant ministries and State/Region Governments in drafting voter lists, inspecting parties in accordance with the law, arrangements for the election without mistakes and extension of polling stations in Rakhine State if necessary.

He also called for the participation of the departments as the State Administrative Council is taking responsibility for holding the re-election. Later, Rakhine State Electoral Official reported appointment of the staff of election sub-commission offices, the availability of office space and completion of the census required for voter lists. The UEC Chairman and party then inspected the site for the construction of the staff housing of election commission and office of the State Election Sub-Commission Office, Sittway District and township Election Sub-Commission Offices.
