Inspection of Preparations : Preparations for Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival

Shan State Government members, including State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Sein Win, State Minister for Economic Affairs U Khun Thein Maung, and State Minister for Natural Resources U Sai Leik, together with relevant state and district-level departments, on October 25, visited, the Aweyar Kong Tar Yar hot air balloon ground to assess the preparatory arrangements for the upcoming Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival, aiming to ensure its successful and vibrant celebration.

First, the state ministers and officials inspected the ongoing preparations and the construction and setup of market stalls at the hot air balloon ground. They instructed the responsible officials to prioritize public safety, cleanliness, and orderliness so that the public can participate peacefully in the festival celebrations.

They also coordinated and provided necessary support for any requirements. It is learned that the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival will be grandly held from October 29th to November 5th. A total of 438 hot air balloons will be launched in competition, comprising 358 daytime balloons, 43 large night balloons, and 37 'Sein Na Pan' balloons.

During the festival period, the large night balloons and 'Sein Na Pan' balloons will be launched daily from 5 PM, starting from October 29th until November 4th. The daytime two-legged and four-legged balloons will be launched daily from 1 PM, starting from October 27th until November 4th.

Similarly, it is learned that the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival will feature a Kathina robe procession, a Mathoe Thingan (Non-Stale Robe) weaving competition, ceremonies for offering the woven robes and Kathina offerings, a variety lights procession, exhibitions of local products from MSMEs, and performances by nationally renowned artists.

This prominent festival of Shan State will be celebrated vibrantly, and the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival Organizing Committee has extended invitations to lovers of the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival and hot air balloon enthusiasts from all regions to visit and enjoy the festivities.
