Inspection of MEVMs: UEC Chairman inspected maintenance of MEVMs

Union Election Commission Chairman U Than Soe, accompanied by commission member U Than Aung Kyaw, Nay Pyi Taw Council members and officials, inspected the maintenance and semi-annual inspection of Myanmar Electronic Voting Machines (MEVMs) used in eight townships in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory during the 2025 general election on Monday.

During the visit, officials and technical experts reported on inspection processes and the preparation of findings. The chairman emphasized that the voting machines, as controlled items, must be regularly checked to prevent damage. He instructed officials to follow guidelines on inspection, storage, battery management and security, to systematically submit inspection reports to the commission, and to conduct maintenance checks every six months.
