




Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, and responsible officials, visited Sanchaung Township, Yangon Region, on December 22. They observed and encouraged the Phase (3) implementation of the Pan Khin Project at the Sanchaung Township Immigration Office. Staff were assisting local residents regarding household population lists and issuing/replacing National Registration Cards (NRC) that were damaged/lost or for those over 18 years old who had not yet applied.
The Union Minister and officials cordially greeted the local residents who came for the services and coordinated with responsible officials to fulfill necessary requirements.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and the Region Chief Minister observed the processes. They saw staff examining local residents according to procedures under Phase (3) of the Pan Khin Project to provide household population lists and NRCs. The services were being carried out step-by-step through a One-Stop Service system. They also observed the status of implementing the e-ID system, where biometric and biographic data of those who had received their NRCs were being captured to issue a Unique ID number concurrently.
Following this, the Union Minister and the Region Chief Minister inspected the offices within the Township office. They checked the maintenance of office documents and equipment, and the systematic filing of personal records in the registry room. They instructed officials to ensure the security of documents and machinery/equipment and to emphasize efforts so that every eligible voter can possess and present at least one type of identification card to vote. They also coordinated necessary matters based on explanations and presentations by the responsible officials.
Furthermore, the Union Minister and the Region Chief Minister inspected the office work conditions of staff and the maintenance of office documents within the Ahlon District Office. The Union Minister gave instructions coordinated necessary actions with responsible officials, provided food provisions for district and township office staff, and cordially greeted the local residents, it’s learnt.
