Inspection of development works: MCRD UM inspected development works in Lewe

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, accompanied by relevant officials, visited Yone Taw Village in Lewe Township, Union Territory on July 22nd.

He observed and encouraged the harvesting and threshing of summer paddy in a 20-acre field belonging to members of the Shwe War Tun (2) Agricultural Production Cooperative Limited. The Union Minister discussed how the government is providing 200,000 kyats per acre in the form of seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs from the Country’s Economic Promotion Fund.

He emphasized that it is the farmers' responsibility to truly strive for the targeted yield. Next, the Union Minister and officials visited and encouraged three women, who completed a basic sewing technical training course and had been provided with necessary equipment, as they operated their sewing businesses in Yone Taw Village.

The Union Minister instructed the relevant officials at all levels to provide necessary assistance and support, including capital, to ensure the continuity of their businesses. Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials inspected the completed U-Yin Su Village production road and bridge, constructed by the Department of Rural Development in Lewe Township.

This infrastructure project will benefit over 150 acres of farmland belonging to 100 farmers in the Village. The Union Minister discussed regional development matters and coordinated solutions for issues raised by the villagers.
