Inspection in Ayeyawady Region: Community Center, paddy harvesting and SME businesses

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, together with Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, visited Patanaw Township on Saturday, and inspected the construction of the Community Center.

The construction of the center began in early October, and it will be 100x60 ft wide two-storey reinforced concrete building. Over 582 million kyats from the State Budget was allotted for the facility, and it is targeted to complete in March 2023.

The Union Minister and party later visited 50-acre model paddy plantation in KyaungKone Township and viewed the harvesting of the paddy. Over 118,000 acres of paddy plantation have been cultivated by more than 26,000 farmers from one ward and 65 village-tracts.

The model plantation yielded the estimation of 115 basket per acre. They then arrived at Pathein Industrial City Project, and heard reports on the work progress. They later visited the Garment Factory of Vent Dest Pathein Co., Ltd and viewed the production process.

The factory operate the business with about 800 work forces, and the quality garments are being exported to the European countries. They then visited Ayeya Hintha Rice Mill which is being operated with about 50 work force. In 2021-2022, the mill could export 75,000 tons of rice to Europe and African countries as well as China and also to the domestic market.

It is planned to export about 200,000 ton of rice to Europe, Africa, China and other countries, 20,000 ton to Bangladesh and 25,000 ton to local market. The Union Minister and party later viewed the production process and preparation of temporary jetty that will be used to export rice directly to Bangladesh.

They then visited ShweSar Pathein Umbrella Industry and viewed the production process of the various sizes of umbrellas. The Union Minister and party also visited NayMin Private Salt Grinding Machin and viewed the production process of Iodized salt. They then visited the ShweMyinPyan Halawa Factory, No.5 Fertilizer Plant, and viewed the production processes.
