





Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, visited and inspected the Paralympic sports team that is currently training at the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation in Dagon Myo-Thit (North) Township in Yangon on the afternoon of November 2nd. The team is preparing to participate in the 13th ASEAN Para Games.
First, the Union Minister and officials went to the Paralympic Sports Federation and warmly greeted the Paralympic athletes who are training to compete in the 13th ASEAN Para Games to be held in Thailand from January 20 to 26, 2026. He encouraged them to strive harder than in previous years’ competitions to achieve better results. He urged them to start now by analyzing their weaknesses and strengths as well as the conditions of their competitors, emphasizing that although they have disabilities, they are capable athletes who can bring honor to the nation.
Continuing, at the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation meeting hall, the competition support materials to be taken for the competition were reviewed and inspected. The federation's Vice Chairman, Secretary, and executives individually introduced themselves to the Union Minister and presented the preparations for entering and competing in the events of running, jumping, throwing, swimming, weightlifting, sitting volleyball, football, table tennis, shooting, boccia, blind chess, goalball, bowling, and taekwondo. They explained the current status of preparations, the superiority of the previous competition's gold standards and norms according to each sport, health examinations, catering and accommodation matters, competition uniforms and support materials, and the requirements for the competition. The Union Minister fulfilled the necessary requests based on the reports.
The Union Minister gave necessary instruction in order to achieve success and bring honor to the country in the 13th ASEAN Para Games, efforts will continue with full momentum, and the ministry will coordinate and fulfill necessary needs. They encouraged everyone to continue working diligently and wholeheartedly without losing enthusiasm, it’s reported.
