





Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, accompanied by regional government members, conducted a field inspection of street lighting installations in Dala Township, Twantay District, Yangon Region in the evening of March 5th, to ensure the convenience of public travel and to enhance the city's aesthetic in line with urban standards. The project covers the areas from the Dala Bridge junction to the head of Thanlwin Road and Navarat Road along the Dala-Danoke Road, from the bridge junction to the head of Panwa Road. The installation included 45 units of 10-meter GI poles located in the traffic islands, 93 units of 150W LED street lamps and 4,500 feet of underground power cabling.
The Chief Minister inspected the successful illumination of these streetlights as well as the lighting status on the Dala Bridge. The Chairman of the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC) and responsible officials presented the progress of the operations.
Following the briefing, the Chief Minister instructed to ensure all remaining works meet the prescribed standards and are completed within the set timeframe and to systematically plant decorative flowers and greenery along the central medians to beautify the area.
The Yangon Region Government is currently implementing various urban development projects, including the expansion and upgrading of main roads, traffic safety measures, and city beautification. A key focus is the installation of traffic islands streetlights on major thoroughfares to provide illumination for both sides of the road at night. The current electrification of Dala Township is being carried out through the collaborative efforts of the YESC and relevant authorities, it’s learnt.
