Information Sector: Union Minister Makes Inspections

Union Minister for Information U Htein Lin on Monday visited the Pyinmana-Thapyaytaung Retransmission Station. During his meeting with staff, he instructed them to ensure the public receives real-time updates on the government’s goals, activities, and the new administration’s 100-day plan through various media channels.

He also discussed improving broadcasting quality and matters related to filming and transmission. There, he also conducted a detailed inspection of Up Link processes, DVB-T2 digital broadcasting transmitters, FM radio transmission systems, mess hall, staff housing, hostels and transmission towers.

The Union Minister proceeded to the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) offices in Pyinmana and Lewe townships and inspected children's reading rooms, Mobile Library Bus program, systematic maintenance of literature and resources intended for public study and Book Club’s discussion circle.

And, he provided snacks and refreshments to staff and local children. During his visit to the township offices, the Union Minister called for efforts to ensure that vital information regarding agriculture, livestock, education, health, and social sectors reaches rural areas within the first 100 days of the new government; provide prompt and efficient services to the public without unnecessary delays; and actively counteract fake news and misinformation in a timely manner.
