Information Industry: Union Minister Makes Inspections In Yangon

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspected The Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper publishing house in Bahan Township of Yangon Region on Wednesday.

During the meeting with the employees of the newspaper publishing house, the general manager, the chief editor and members of the editorial department explained the circumstances of the newspaper’s transformation in form and essence. In his response, the Union Minister discussed the future position of The Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper, adding the need to make it better, to make the news interesting as the Ministry of Information is working to disseminate the true information to the people in various ways.

As a State-owned media, it is necessary to assess the real situation of the people and get the true information to make the country and the people more involved.

There, the Union Minister inspected the editorial department and the printing room. On the same day, the Union Minister met officials from the Centre for Myanmar Affairs Studies at the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) on Pansodan Road. He also inspected the major renovation work of the Yangon Region IPRD office. Later the day, the Union Minister met with artistes who were filming the “Song Diary” programme for the Friday Night Show at the Myanma Radio and Television and watched the filming of their performance.
