Industry Sector: Inspections in Ayeyawaddy, Engineering Education Forum

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited the Ayeyawaddy Region Industrial Supervision and Inspection Department in Pathein on July 15.

After hearing reports, the Union Minister called on concerned officials to take serious and strict action for the systematic development of industrial zones in the region.

He also urged staff to draw plans for factory building and check and supervise the layout plans for machine installment.

Later the day, the Union Minister inspected the high-end paper factory (Thapaung) in Thapaung Township.

During the inspection, the Union Minister heard reports and called on officials to learn about the latest technologies in paper production, provide advanced training and to develop business plans for manufacturing operations.

He also stressed that in carrying out manufacturing activities, the price of inputs should not be calculated consistently, but should be calculated by the prices that may occur.

On July 16, the Union Minister via online attended opening of the International Conference on Accreditation of Engineering Education (2022) jointly hosted by the Myanmar Engineering Council and the Engineering Education Committee of the World Engineering Federation.

The theme of this 2-day conference is "From Quality Engineering Education to Future Engineering Science" and attended by honorary speakers from 10 countries and also papers were read by teachers/teachers from local technical universities.
