Industrial Zone Development: Briefing guidelines and inspecting the EVs production

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than attended a briefing in Yangon to explain the directives of the Central Committee for the Development of Industrial Enterprises and Zones on Saturday.

The Union Minister highlighted key outcomes from a recent central committee meeting, including proposals to reclassify and re-designate industrial zones, review of land lease rates for the Magway industrial zone, plans to restructure regional committees and enhance competitiveness, and directives from the Prime Minister to implement 15 key action points quickly. He urged Yangon Region, which hosts the most industrial zones, to prioritize swift and systematic implementation.

Later in the day, the Union Minister visited NPK Motor Co., Ltd. in Thanlyin and Super Seven Stars Automotive Co., Ltd. in South Dagon, which are assembling electric vehicles (EVs) under the SKD system. He inspected production processes and stressed the importance of meeting quality and safety standards in line with the national EV development policy.
