Industrial Development : Work coordination meeting on steel mills projects

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than presided over a work coordination meeting on steel mills projects at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 16th August. In his opening speech, the Union Minister stressed on meeting set standards in implementing current two steel mill projects during set timeframe, adhering to existing procedures and laws.

The Union Minister also elaborated on systematic financial management, essential qualities to ensure effective leadership, communication, troubleshooting and decision-making skills. Then, the officials presented reports on current implementation of No.1 Steel Mill (Myingyan) and No.2 Steel Mill (Pangpet) projects, completion condition and further tasks to be carried out.

Suggestions were also made to secure the quality of the projects. Upon reports, the Union Minister stressed on calculation of possible steel tons production once the No.1 Steel Mill (Myingyan) is operated in full capacity, raw material availability and usage as well as quality testing of the steel products.
