Industrial Development : Efforts for development of Yenanchaung Industrial Zone

Vice Chairman of the Industry and Industrial Zone Development Central Committee Union Minister for Industry, Dr. Charlie Than and officials inspected the Yenanchaung Industrial Zone in Magway Region on Saturday. They met with the Industrial Zone Management Committee, local industrialists, academic representatives from Yenanchaung University and the Government Technical Institute, along with ministry officials.

During the meeting, the Union Minister highlighted the guidance of the State Security and Peace Commission Chairman to strengthen the industrial zone. He noted that industrial development supports manufacturing growth, creates local jobs and improves socio-economic conditions.

He said industrial laws and by-laws have been enacted for industry and industrial zone development and States and Regions are being monitored to be compliance with established standards. The Union Minister urged stakeholders to follow laws and guidelines, ensure quality products with proper packaging at fair prices for market access and place special emphasis on research and development to produce competitive products.

He discussed opening short-term vocational training courses if required and urged government–industrialist cooperation for the development of the Yenanchaung Industrial Zone. Officials reported on implementation of the Yenanchaung Industrial Zone, compliance with laws and regulations, regional socio-economic research, industry–school linkages, human resource development, meeting sector needs and organizing knowledge-sharing seminars on raw materials and technology.

The Union Minister and officials then responded to reports from the industrialists and fulfilled the needs related to project implementation difficulties. In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party visited the Alpha Vina concrete batch plant, the Win-Samasitta Oil Mill, and King Golden Dragon Co., Ltd, and viewed the production processes.
