Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Head Dwikorita Karnawati said that Indonesia is no longer in the top 10 list of greenhouse gas emitter countries.

The monitoring results from the global greenhouse watch tool indicated that Indonesia’s emissions is now below the global average.

Last year, Indonesia was included in the list of top 10 countries of greenhouse gas emissions in the world.

However, with the installation of greenhouse gas emission monitoring tools, Indonesia now had the mechanism to control the greenhouse gas emissions.

According to Dwikorita, the impacts of climate change are real on the stability of the world's economy and politics, as well as the impacts of pandemic and war.

For those reasons, it becomes urgent now to mitigate the greenhouse gas emissions and climate change in order to reduce the impact of global warming.
