Indonesia eyes hosting World Combat Games

The Indonesian Olympic Committee Chairman said that in Jakarta on Monday, Indonesia has the chance to become the host, of an international martial arts multi-event tournament called the World Combat Games in 2027.

The committee was trying to improve the quality of Indonesian sports at the global level. He added that the committee is trying to create an affiliation between Pencak Silat, an Indonesian traditional martial art, and an international sports organization called the Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sports.

Indonesia has a big chance to host the next world combat games, due to its strength in combat sports through Pencak Silat. By globalizing Pencak Silat, the sports can be acknowledged by the International Olympic Committee.
