INDIAN FINANCE MINISTER, NIRMALA SITHARAMAN said "Production, manufacturing, import, export, transport, or sale, or even distribution and storage and advertisement relating e-cigarettes are all banned."

The ban cuts off a huge future market from e-cigarette makers at a time when the number of people smoking worldwide is declining. DELHI RESIDENT AND PULMONOLOGIST, APARAJIT KAUR  said "There is no tar burnt. There is no carbon monoxide produced. There are no thousands of carcinogens which is there from the cigarettes which is burnt. We are just hitting the liquid which contains of the vegetable glycerin propylene glycol which people use from day to day basis."

India has 106 million smokers, second only to China.
