Increasing tourist’s arrival: Meeting on smooth and convenient visit of tourists held

The meeting on smooth and convenient visit of foreigner tourists and receiving data regarding location where they are travelling was held at the Nilar Hall of the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism, Nay Pyi Taw on June 9.

At the meeting, the Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism Dr. Htay Aung said that the domestic travelling has been increasing as of October, 2022 due to the falling under control of COVID-19 infection.

As of 17th April, 2022, the commercial flights have been landing at Yangon International Airport. The permission for the international tourists to visit the country with Tourist Visa from May 20 and the arrival of the tourists initiated on May 24.

Up to 8th June, 2022, the tourists from 27 countries are paying visit to the country and the 8 International Airlines are landing daily basic.

The Information Counters have been arranged at the Entry Point of Nay Pyi Taw, Regions and States to give service for the guests. As the Guest List Management System (GLMS) cannot be implemented with the capacity of only ministry, the related departments are urged to cooperate and extend the helping hands.

The ministry has notified to the hotels and guest houses for the preparations of security measures in advance. Next, the departmental officials and responsible persons from the associations related to the tourism industry clarified the related matters and the union minister coordinated necessaries.

The inbound flights of International Airlines have been opened as of 17th April, 2022, the arrival of international tourists as well as oversea Myanmar citizens is increasing with various entry visas into the country through the Yangon and Mandalay International Airports, it’s reported.
