Inaugural for MCTIP: ICTIP formed for Sino-Myanmar business ties

The inaugural for the Myanmar-China Trade and Investment Promotion Association (MCTIP) was held on the evening of October 22 at the Sky Star Hotel in Tamwe Township, Yangon.

At the ceremony, U Aye Win, Chairman of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and a member of the MCTIP Formation Committee, and U Kyaw Win, also a member of the MCTIP Formation Committee, explained matters related to the MCTIP Association.

Following this, Mr. Jiang Xinqiang, the representative of Power China Resource Myanmar Company, a member of the MCTIP Formation Committee, extended the greetings. Subsequently, attending MCTIP members and distinguished guests engaged in a session of asking questions about the association and providing suggestions and discussions.

A dinner was then hosted for the attendees. Afterwards, responsible officials from the Myanmar-China Trade and Investment Promotion Association (MCTIP) and other associations signed Memorandums of Understanding.

The MCTIP association was formed with the aims of further developing business operations between Myanmar and China, increasing and smoothing the flow of trade and goods between the two countries, and increasing investments within Myanmar. According to the Formation Committee, efforts are being made to form the MCTIP association with large, medium, and small enterprises from Myanmar, as well as state-owned companies and large, medium, and small private companies from China. It is reported that currently, 79 Chinese companies and 379 Myanmar companies have submitted applications to join the MCTIP association.
