Illegal trade: Vehicles, commodities, cooking oil, timbers seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 29 October, an on-duty team under the supervision of the Customs Department seized 110 electric rice cookers and 65 boxes of Door Lock from two vehicles that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint in Mon State.

Similarly, an on-duty team under the management of Anti-Illegal Special Task Force of Kayin State inspected a motor vehicle parked near Chit Kyi Yay oil station in Thingan Nyi Naung Village and nabbed 4 kinds of commodities including 960 liters of Two Prawns branded cooking oil and a vehicle loaded them.

Afterward, an inspection team of Kengtung Towship custom department under the management of Shan State Anti-Illegal Special Task Force seized 382 sacks of Padommar branded detergent powder with being ownerless near Nam Au Village in Kengtung Township.

On 30th October, an inspection team led by Myanmar Police Force under the management of Sagaing Region Anti-Illegal Trade Special Task Force confiscated TOYOTA CROWN motor vehicle with license in Indaw Town.A combined inspection teamarrested 2.9902 tons of illegal timbers in Taungoo and Nyaung Lay Bin Districts.

Therefore, 12 arrests (estimated value of 271.841 million Kyats) were made on 29 and 30 October, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
