Illegal trade: Timbers, restricted chemicals, foodstuff, vehicles seized

The effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On October 16, a combined team led by Tatmadaw under the management of Kachin State Anti-Illegal Trade special task force seized the small white seeds which can be assumed as restricted chemicals of Ammonium Nitrite (24,800) Kilograms and one motor vehicle carried it on Karmai-Nant Yar-Hpakant road.

On 17th October, the on-duty custom team seized the construction materials which exceeded more than described in the import declaration form (ID) at Wilmar Jetty of containers check point in Yangon Region and the Clear Float Glasses which exceeded more than described in the import declaration form (ID) at Myanmar Industrial Port containers check point.

Similarly, the combined inspection team led by Bago Township Custom Department confiscated foodstuffs, reconditioned motor vehicle and mechanical spare parts and motor vehicle accessories and a trailer loaded them headed to Yangon from Myawady and a Nissan Diesel Tractor Head.

On October 18, a combined team led by Bago Region Forest Department arrested illegal timbers in Bago, Taunggoo and Thayawady districts.On 17th and 18th October, an on-duty combined team under the management of Kayin StateAnti-Illegal Trade special task force seized 40 roles of linoleum and construction materials on the two motor vehicles headed to Yangon from Myawady.

Therefore, 17 arrests (estimated value of 405.243 million Kyats) were made on three consecutive days from 16th to 18th October, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
