Illegal trade: Timbers, industrial materials and vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
On 28 October, an on-duty team under the supervision of the Customs Department nabbed Ventilation Work, Flexible Duct and four goods without import licences from a container at the Asia World Port Terminal Container Checkpoint and brand-new telecommunication equipment that did not match the rules and regulations.
In addition, an on-duty team captured 306 kilogrammes of plastic bottles and PE slipper flip flop from two vehicles and a trailer that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint. On 29 October, a combined team under the management of the Sagaing Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force seized a Toyota Mark II car at the entrance combined checkpoint of Monywa Township.
Similarly, officials confiscated illegal timbers in the Toungoo and Nyaunglebin districts. Therefore, ten arrests (estimated value of 174.976 million Kyats) were made on 28 and 29 October, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
