



An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. On 23rd January, the Tatmadaw column conducted an appropriate security operation in Loikaw Township and captured 33 oxen that were carried illegally.
A combined team seized 83 kilogrammes of ammonium nitrate which is a restricted chemical and related items at the Kyweku-Kyaukphya Bridge checkpoint and Kyaukphyutaung village in Myeik Township. On 24 January, a combined team confiscated 5,546 kilogrammes of glass bowls and 6,000 sets of spacer devices that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from three containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port container checkpoint.
On 23 and 24 January, a combined team nabbed 31,120 kilogrammes of purified plastic scraps and 600 kilogrammes of feedstuffs from 2 vehicles heading from Myawady to Yangon. On 25 January, a total of 1.42 tonnes of illegal teak doors was seized. On the same day, officials at the 16th-Mile Kyaukchaw combined checkpoint captured electrical goods, industrial materials and machinery parts without official documents.
An inspection team seized four unregistered cars near Mindaunt combined checkpoint at the entrance to Monywa Township, two unregistered cars near Ohbo village in Monywa Township and an unregistered car in Shwebo Township. Therefore, 19 arrests (estimated value of over 359.481 million Kyats) were made on four consecutive days from 23 to 26 January, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
